2010 Razzie Nominations Announced

Tomorrow the Oscar nominations will be announced, but today’s announcement is much more exciting; today is the day Golden Raspberry Foundation released the nominations for the 2010 Razzies.

The list may not be surprising, with nominations for Vampires Suck, The Last Airbender and The Bounty Hunter, but everyone loves to poke fun at people with a lot more money than them. So here are all the nominations, along with my opinions on them (because I know you all really care).

SPOIL ALERT: I’ve barely seen any of them.

WORST PICTURE:
-          The Bounty Hunter (Not seen it but the trailer looked ridiculously generic)
-          The Last Airbender (I don’t know why people were expecting more from a live action version of a Nickelodeon cartoon)
-          Sex and the City 2 (I actually liked it until it got to the part where the Arab women revealed their designer clothes)
-          Twilight Saga: Eclipse (I can hear teenage girls (and middle aged women) everywhere screaming in outrage. Cry me a river honey)
-          Vampires Suck (I haven’t seen this, and doubt any half intelligent person has. You don’t need to see it to know this film will be so ridiculously bad it doesn’t even deserve recognition in the Razzies. It should just be ignored and lost into the universe)

WORST ACTOR:
-          Jack Black – Gulliver’s Travels (I haven’t seen this film so can’t really comment on his performance, but it seems people have gone from loving to hating Black while he hasn’t changed at all; although maybe that’s the problem)
-          Gerard Butler – The Bounty Hunter (Again, I haven’t seen it but it’s a shame Butler and Anniston have been so unliked for this film, I’m usually a big fan of them both)
-          Ashton Kutcher – Killers and Valentine’s Day (I haven’t seen Killers but, while Valentine’s Day was a dull and obvious film, Kutcher’s performance was not one of the worst of 2010)
-          Taylor Lautner – Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Valentine’s Day (No arguments here)
-          Robert Pattinson – Remember Me and Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Twilight has the ability to make me hate any actor in it, despite really liking him as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter)

WORST ACTRESS:
-          Jennifer Anniston – The Bounty Hunter and The Switch (Not seen The Bounty Hunter but I actually liked The Switch. It might not have been groundbreaking cinema but it was funny)
-          Miley Cyrus – The Last Song (I’m not usually one to argue Cyrus’s case, but she wasn’t actually half bad in this)
-          Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis & Cynthia Nixon – Sex & the City 2 (Leave them alone. It’s really hard to do acting with that much botox; they did pretty well considering)
-          Megan Fox – Jonah Hex (Not even heard of this film, but if Fox plays anything other than a sexy, bitch in this film I’ll eat my hat)
-          Kristen Stewart – Twilight Saga: Eclipse (I doubt even Twilight fans will have too much issue with this one)

WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
-          Billy Ray Cyrus – The Spy Next Door (Never heard of it)
-          George Lopez – Marmaduke, The Spy Next Door and Valentine’s Day (No problem here)
-          Dev Patel – The Last Airbender (You got to feel sorry for Patel. He went from being the shit one from Skins to the star of the best film of 2008. It’s not his fault people expected too much from him)
-          Jackson Rathbone – The Last Airbender and Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Who? There’s more than two guys in Twilight?)
-          Rob Schneider – Grown Ups (He is just playing his normal character. Unless he’s nominated every year, this is kind of unfair)

WORST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
-          Jessica Alba – The Killer Inside Me, Little Fockers, Machete and Valentine’s Day (Has she ever been hired for anything other than her looks?)
-          Cher – Burlesque (I haven’t seen it yet but I’m still looking forward to regardless of what the Razzies say)
-          Liza Minnelli – Sex & the City 2 (I personally thought she was the best part of the film)
-          Nicola Peltz – The Last Airbender (People shouldn’t deserve a Razzie if nobody has actually heard of them)
-          Barbara Streisand – Little Fockers (Don’t diss the Streisand!!!)

WORST EYE-GOUGING MISUSE OF 3D:
-          Cats & Dogs 2: Revenge of Kitty Galore (They made a number 2?)
-          Clash of the Titans (Didn’t see it. Everybody said it’s crap; what can I say, I’m a sheep)
-          The Last Airbender (Again, what were people expecting from remake of a Nickelodeon cartoon)
-          Nutcracker 3D (Didn’t know they made a 3D Nutcracker)
-          Saw 3D (This was bad? Big surprise *sarcasm*)

WORST SCREEN COUPLE / WORST SCREEN ENSEMBLE:
-          Jennifer Aniston & Gerard Butler – The Bounty Hunter (I haven’t seen it but regardless of their performance in this film, I like them)
-          Josh Brolin’s Face & Megan Fox’s Accent – Jonah Hex (Woah. Do not diss Brandon Walsh. GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE!)
-          The Entire Cast of The Last Airbender (I’m starting to feel sorry for them)
-          The Entire Cast of Sex & The City 2 (The gay guys are funny)
-          The Entire Cast of Twilight Saga: Eclipse (I’m not feeling sorry for them at all)

WORST DIRECTOR:
-          Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer – Vampires Suck (They make the other directors look Oscar worthy)
-          Michael Patrick King – Sex & The City 2 (The directing wasn’t the problem. The ridiculous script during the chase scene was)
-          M. Night Shyamalan – The Last Airbender (See above, and above, and above, and above)
-          David Slade – Twilight Saga: Eclipse (He didn’t really have much to work with)
-          Sylvester Stallone – The Expendables (Depends on how you view this film. If you drunk, with a group of drunk people, willing to woop and cheer the cheesy lines, this film is awesome. Sober? Not so good)

WORST SCREENPLAY:
-          The Last Airbender (and above and above and above)
-          Little Fockers (Is this even out yet?)
-          Sex & the City 2 (Ok I agree with this one, just for that one awful scene)
-          Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Ok fine! I’ve never seen it. I’m just jumping on the band wagon)
-          Vampires Suck (I have no idea why this film was ever made)

WORST PREQUEL, REMAKE, RIP OFF OR SEQUEL: (this category is no longer necessary as practically every film made is now a prequel, remake, rip off and/or sequel)
-          Clash Of The Titans
-          The Last Airbender
-          Sex & The City 2
-          Twilight Saga: Eclipse
-          Vampires Suck (and so do you)
